“Greetings, Court Fans!” With those words, attorneys, clients, and friends of the firm have been introduced to pithy summaries of U.S Supreme Court decisions since Wiggin and Dana’s “Supreme Court Update” was launched by former associate (and Sandra Day O’Connor clerk) Sandra Glover way back in October Term 2002. Over the ensuing decades, the Supreme Court Update has been maintained by successive generations of lawyers in Wiggin and Dana’s Appellate Practice Group and remains one of the few resources to summarize every published opinion of the Supreme Court each term.
Beginning with October Term 2024, the Update made the jump to a blog format, allowing readers to easily navigate past summaries by term and by topic. While the format has changed, our commitment to providing timely and digestible summaries of every SCOTUS decision remains. (And readers who miss the traditional email greeting can, of course, subscribe for daily or weekly updates!).
At the same time, the new format permits us to expand our coverage to match the national scope of Wiggin’s appellate practice. So, in addition to the usual Supreme Court Updates, readers can expect insights and observations on appeals in state and federal courts nationwide, as well as on the practice of appellate litigation, itself.
